Join us at noon on Sunday, June 2, in the Fireside Room. Dee Poujade will report on her observations in Palestine.
Dee Poujade has returned from living in Palestine for three months. She served as an “Ecumenical Accompanier” under the auspices of the World Council of Churches, and also as an individual Volunteer in Mission through the General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church. Dee was the first person to serve in both capacities in a pilot program in which these two organizations are working together to increase United Methodist awareness of the issues in Palestine and Israel.
Dee’s duties included providing a protective presence to school children and day laborers as they traversed their daily paths, monitoring and reporting human rights abuses, and interacting with Palestinians and Israelis who are working together for peace. She lived in the West Bank village of Tulkarm.
A light lunch will be served.
