Ansel Adams once said, “I believe the world is incomprehensibly beautiful – an endless prospect of magic and wonder.”
It is easy to see it that way during these beautiful summer days! Standing at the edge of the ocean, or on a mountain ridge looking into a fertile valley, it does seem as if our world is an endless prospect of magic and wonder.
Yet even the beauty can be overwhelming if we do not take a break now and then. And what better time to consider what it means to “Give me a Break!” than the month of July? I hope you will join us in worship each Sunday morning at 10:30 as we lift up the notion of Sabbath time, with this sermon series:
- July 7 “Give me a Break from Work!” – Why Sabbath is important to God AND to us
- July 14 “Give me a Break from the World!” – Turn off CNN and find quiet in the chaos
- July 21 “Give me a Break from Technology!” – Can we be smarter than our phones?
- July 28 “Give me a Break from Busy-Ness!” – Avoiding endless activity
