Young Adults and Young Families Combined Sunday School Class for September!
The 20-Somethings and The Gathering classes are meeting together in room 204 at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday this month. We are holding this combined class so Rev. Donna can teach “The Essential Enneagram for Life and Faith” for a few weeks. While it sounds like just a personality test, Rev. First Church Goes to a Timbers Reserve Game
Saturday, September 21
Plan to meet at the church parking lot at 5:00 PM for hotdogs and drinks. We will then transit together to Jeld-Wen Stadium for the 6:00 PM game. Tickets ($15) are still available! Call the church office now through Thursday at 5:00 PM to reserve your spot!

Acolytes are an important part of our worship service and we depend on the children of the church to provide us with this tradition.
2nd – 6th graders who would like to be an acolyte during the upcoming school year, please plan take part in the acolyte training session led by Martha Connell and Reverend Jeremy Smith. Both parents and students should plan to attend. If you have questions regarding the process, tradition, or schedule for acolytes, please call the church office and ask for Megan or Jeremy.
Sunday, September 29, beginning at 5:00 PM
Super Sunday is a fun evening activity time for kids and an opportunity for parents to fellowship together.
Children participate in planned activities at the church, hosted by Megan and other volunteers, while parents have dinner together at a restaurant of their choosing. Nursery is provided. Sign up today! Reply to this email or sign up on Megan’s door the next time you’re at church.
Safe Sanctuaries Training for Sunday School Teachers and Volunteers
Sunday, October 6th
Per our program requirements, all Sunday School teachers are required to attend a Safe Sanctuaries training once a year. We offered one in August, and our backup one is the first Sunday in October. We will meet at 12 noon in Room 202. Teachers who did not attend the August training are expected to attend, and any other adults (including parents) are welcome to attend to learn more about how FUMC addresses child safety. Questions? Family Friendly Hike to Tualatin Hills Park in Beaverton

Assistance with Lawn Care Needed
One of our senior church members living in NE Portland needs some assistance maintaining her lawn. If you are able to contribute some time and energy to mowing, pruning, etc. please contact Megan or the church office for details.
FISH Food of the Month for September: Canned Fish
Students can leave donations in their Sunday School classrooms or the barrels looked in the Narthex.
