Posts from Cambodia: Tuesday February 11

Tuesday – VBS at Horab Methodist Church, Kampong Speu, Cambodia.

Children of CambodiaOur day began at 9:30 am with approximately 50 lovely children, full of energy and big smiles.  The afternoon count was 80+ kids.  Both sessions were used to tell of God’s love for all his creation.  The children learned how each one of us is so special and yet so different from one another.  And that God has a plan for each of our lives.

Along with learning Bible principles, the children have time to enjoy crafts and activities.  One craft that everyone enjoyed, even myself, was to draw our face on a paper plate with colored pens.  Outside, the children played the Cat and Mouse Game, and did a balloon race.  The children ranged in age from 2 to 14.

Children of CambodiaOn leaving for home at the end of the day, they took their face plates, a pencil, and a gift bag with cookies and a package of dry noodles.  The FUMC UMVIM trip boarded our little yellow bus and headed back to the hotel – tired, but feeling very rewarded with the events of the day.

To date, we have served 382 children!) These beautiful faces will stay with us for a lifetime.
