Handbell Performance: Distinctly Bronze West perfoming March 2

Distinctly Bronze West

Distinctly Bronze West is an annual national handbell event for about 90 advanced ringers, selected by application from around the US and abroad.

That’s the equivalent of 6-7 complete handbell choirs, ringing en masse, using a range of 7 octaves of handbells and 7 octaves of chimes, under the direction of former Oregonian Jason Wells, founder and director of “Ring of Fire.” (For reference, our Sanctuary Bells and juBELLation typically ring 5 octaves.)

Nancy Hascall and Tim McDonough of the Sanctuary Bells will be participating (as they do almost every year), along with Nancy’s husband and a dozen or so other ringers from the Portland area. All are expected to arrive on Thursday with their music already learned, ready to rehearse together for 3-1/2 days in preparation for Sunday’s concert. You won’t want to miss this unique handbell performance! Bring your friends and enjoy!
