YOUTH at FiRsT
We are a diverse group of youth ranging from 6th grade- 12th grade.
On Sunday mornings, we explore issues of youth in the church, and in the world during Sunday School starting at 9:30. Middle School Youth meet in room 209, and High School Youth meet in the Youth Room, below the Sanctuary.
Middle School Youth Group (6th grade-8th grade) meets on Sunday afternoons after worship at 12 in the Youth Room. Sunday Youth Group activities include, hang out time in the Youth Room, bowling, movies, and other field trips.
High School Youth Group (9th grade-12th grade) meets on Thursday evening at 6pm. We hang out in the youth room, work on planning programs and projects for the group, and socialize. Dinner is provided at 7pm by parents or volunteers. All are welcome to join for dinner.

Adult Volunteers Needed
First UMC abides by the Safe Sanctuaries policy. This policy requires us to have at least two adults present any time the youth do anything. It also requires a background check for anyone working with the program.
Download the Volunteer Disclosure Form if you are interested in working with the FUMY program as an adult volunteer. This includes everyone who teaches Sunday School, everyone who helps with the evening program on Sunday night, and everyone who serves as a chaperone at youth events.
Please do not email the completed form, Mail it directly to Megan Humphreys-Loving, or bring it by the church office in a sealed envelope with Megan's name on it.
Boy Scout Troop 1
TROOP 1 meets at the First United Methodist Church each Wednesday evening at 7:30 PM during the regular school year. Scouts visiting the Portland area are welcome to join us for our meetings.
