The Front Gate At the beginning of the day, we arrived in force at the Habitat for Humanity site out on SE Stark. There are over 30 chapters of the Habitat for Humanity in Oregon alone. We worked with the Mt Hood chapter today.
Digging in the Soil After we had cleared tons of rocks from the courtyard, we set to digging holes to plant the trees.
Almost There... We were coached on how big to dig the holes and how to treat the roots of each Sunset Maple tree that we were planting. Here you see our team of experts digging through rock and soil to make the hole just right.
More Digging Another site for another tree. More experts. Dig dig dig.
Unwrapping the Tree Each tree had to be unwrapped in preperation for planting. They were delivered just like really tall Christmas Trees, with all the branches tied up with twine.
