The call for racial justice has been on all our minds recently.  Last Thursday about 40 folks from FUMC came together to show our belief in a God of inclusion and our opposition to racism, with a small demonstration in front of the church (by the MAX station on Jefferson Street).  Several groups in the church have been reading books like White Fragility by Robin D’Angelo, and Waking Up White by Daniel Hill and others designed to help us take a look at ourselves and the society in which we live.  There is an extensive bibliography posted on the church’s homepage under our “Declaration on Racial Injustice”.  If you would like to join a group to learn more about way to become anti-racist, please see the “Sacred Spaces” page on our website.
