Update from Global Missions

While FUMC members and friends are enjoying delicious fair-trade food items from Palestine, the Global Mission committee has an ongoing commitment to use the sales profits to support General Board of Global Ministries (GBGM) projects in the Holy Land.  Thanks to the congregation’s generous support of the olive oil sales, this year, $500 will be donated to the Wadi Foquin Narjes Community Development Project

Wadi Foquin, a village of about 1300 people is located near Bethlehem, and is also next to a large settlement, which was built on confiscated land.  The village economy is largely based on agriculture, and the GBGM project helps to provide clean water and clean up chemicals that have leeched into the land from the settlement, as well as to help with schools and medical care.
